Spend a full day exploring the city of Cape Town and learning more about its many attractions. This tour will take you to Table Mountain, Green Market Square, the Bo-Kaap, the Castle of Good Hope, City Hall and the Slave Lodge.

Start you day with a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, the most visited site in Africa after the great pyramids of Egypt. From a bird’s eye view, you travel to the heart of the city; Green Market Square. Originally a place where farmers would come to voice complaints, meet a friend or sell their vegetable; the square is now a bustling craft market.

Next you can learn more about Cape Town’s cultural diversity in Bo-Kaap, home to the Cape Malays. The forebears of this complex community came from Java, Bali, India and China. A visit to the Bo-Kaap Museum will give you a glimpse back in time, to a typical Cape Malay family of the 19th century.

You then step even further back in time with a visit to the Castle of Good Hope. In 1652 Jan van Riebeeck was sent to the Cape by the Dutch East India Company to establish a stopping point where ships en-route to the East. A few years later construction started on the pentagonal Castle of Good Hope, now South Africa’s oldest surviving building and a military museum.

You also visit the Houses of Parliament and City Hall, which was the first Victorian building to be erected in Cape Town. Finally the Slave Lodge, also know as the Cultural History Museum, will give you more insight into the early years of European settlement in the Cape.
